Hiking in nature and relaxation with a thermal bath in Agiasmata Chios

Τhe benefits of hiking in nature for the physical and mental health are known. Direct contact with nature, body training, improved physical fitness, relaxation and release from the stress of everyday life and much more.

Especially, when at the end of the hiking day one has the opportunity to get into a tub with warm thermal water, the takeoff of physical and mental relaxation and wellness approaches the absolute height.

Finishing off the hiking day with a warm thermal bath has been common practice for many years e.g. in the Alps, where enjoyment of the mountains attracts millions of people throughout the year.

On the slopes of the valley of Agiasmata there is a network of over 55 km. hiking trails waiting for us. They are ancient footpaths used by local villagers in the past when there were no cars and they had to move around on foot and their animals. Under the leadership of the well-known naturalist G. Halatsis and the volunteer work of the nearby villagers the ancient trails have been reinstated and they are available now to hikers and nature lovers.

While hiking on the slopes of the valley of Agiasmata, one can enjoy the view from above of a wonderful green landscape, but also of the deep blue of the Aegean sea, which of course cannot be enjoyed by hikers in the Alps. Don’t forget though, is the all year-round intense splash of the sea in Agiasmata, the phenomenon that locals call "askothalassa" (“swollen sea”) which creates a unique environment (picture and sound) for romantics and artists.

Walking on the slopes of the valley of Agiasmata one can enjoy from above the sight of a magnificent green landscape and, also the endless blue of the Aegean, which of course cannot be enjoyed by walkers in the Alps. Combining, hiking in the mountain, thermal water and sea, Agiasmata is an ideal escape year-round, especially now in the autumn and winter when temperatures are more suitable for hiking.
